This week in my reading class
students are working in pairs or groups of threes to write reader’s theatre scripts.
They’ve been coming up with some pretty crazy ideas, but are having a lot of fun. One group is a doctor and patient, and I think there may be a mock surgery involved. Another group of three is working on a script with a zombie as one of the characters.
Next week they’re going to get to perform...

so we had a tsunami drill today
the whole school ran as fast as they could and piled into one bus. Then we all drove up the mountain, got out, and ran farther up. All of this happened in less than 5 minutes. Those kids don’t play around with tsunami drills.

I wish there was some way to have this year of teaching in American Samoa count toward my KTIP requirements back home.
